i'm having a lot of fun this con season, but at the same time it's getting me down, because jobnik! 8 is still going so, so, slowly.so in the interests of keeping me motivated, & you all not forgetting i'm here, have

hey guess what! no, it's not my graphic memoir class going forward. my publicity push seems to have been too little, too late, & not enough students signed up for the school to offer it. hopefully i'll get another chance in the summer.but! i actually finished a page of jobnik! yes! a new one! granted, it looks to be the second-easiest page this issue, & this issue keeps adding pages... but i soooo needed this.

between one thing & another, i never moved forward on the new t-shirt design idea i posted here two months ago. but last night while i was trying to get to sleep, i had a sudden idea of how to make it jewy-but-aesthetic-but-it's-ok-if-you-don't-get-it, like my most successful shirts.under here is

jeez. off to spx in a few hours, i can't believe it. today has been so crazy, especially since, having totally wonked out my sleeping to try to finish the essay, my short-term memory is shot, & this whole week was pretty much one day for me.but i finished it! & my sainted printer got me a hundred beautiful copies of it in literally five hours.

i got back on the fifteenth, (my cnv signing was wonderful, photos can be seen here & here) sick in the head, & have been struggling with some success to get back into art-making brain.

wull, i spent all night doing this, & then i've gotta head out tomorrow at eight to meet a columnist from ma'ariv (one of israel's two largest dailies) (& not that i'm complaining about that appointment, god forbid!), so i might as well post this & get some feeling of accomplishment out of it (i have no idea where or how copy shops work in israel, how i'll transport the file, even how many copies i want of this)... i mean! i must stop blithering & show you the poster i made for my instore event in tel aviv!

whose eyes are large and pensive, and/whose souls are sweet and prim.here's a screenprint idea i've been chewing over for awhile, which i just sat down & stippled up. i definitely need a new t-shirt, & it'll be cool to experiment, even though i kinda regret this one is pure aesthetics, without any jewy content or in-jokes (although one could make connections if one really wanted).

so i'm preparing to post the absolute dead coolest thing about comic-con, but in the meantime, i remembered i meant to post the bonus page i made for the comic-con edition of the book (to compensate for lack of finished handletters).
